Whilst at work you are entitled to a break, this is your chance to take a break from work, do the necessary, replenish yourself with food or drink if required and then the rest of the time is yours. You don’t have to think about your breaks like this everyday, sometimes it’s nice to chat with work mates, sometimes you might want to read a book or catch up on the latest news, the important thing is to value this time, either to rest, reinvigorate or think outside the box or cube or desk reference, depending on your working set up.
You could try making art on your lunch break, this doesn’t have to be an object, it could be a live act or you could take a photo. Use this time to think and be creative, and if you can, allow it to flow into your work or you could do something on your way into work and take your creativity into the rest of the day. This will help you gain a better art work life balance.
nB. This was written during a morning break.

Figuring out how to spend a break is always challenging. Use it to catch up on work, chat with co-workers or completely take a break.
