Number Twenty Four: Art Work Life Balance read a book and become like the character

Reading a book can be relaxing, and a useful learning experience as you imagine yourself as the protagonist of the story, to escape, get involved, and sometimes be inspired. In a book you live an alternative life but the trick is to take what you might learn in this imagined life into your real life. So read a book. I f you are short on time you could watch a film, though it’s not quite the same form of escapism but for 1 and a half or 2 hours you can imagine this other life.

So you’re reading the book or have left the cinema all you need to do now is remember what you’ve learnt and apply it in the real world. Think about the main character, what is it about them that you admire, maybe they are trying to change the world in an imagined future. Consider this future compared to the reality of today, then compare your actions to the main characters, what could you take from this imagined world or character and put into your own that might make for a better art work life balance?
