Number Twenty-six: Art Work Life Balance words of wisdom

“Help the aged, one day you’ll be older too, you might need someone who can pull you through”
Pulp, Help the aged.

There are many reasons to help your elders one reason being that at some point in their life they will have helped you. They have wisdom and have lived a life, perhaps you can ask them what their proudest achievement has been? Do they have any words of wisdom or advice about finding the right balance? What do they think of the internet? How’s the weather looking for the next few days? What vegetables are good to plant at this time of year? They have a wealth of knowledge that I’m sure they’d love to pass on? Maybe they might tell us that we should never be afraid.

As with all people, sometimes they might not be particularly receptive to your ideas, so approach this exercise with care, ask your chosen elder folk to choose a song that means a lot to them, you could ask relatives or put an advert in your local newspaper, as your target audience will read a local newspaper with a fine tooth comb. Once you have your chosen subject and song ask if they mind being filmed and reciting the lyrics. You might also like to ask them, him, or her, why they chose this song if you can, play them a copy of the song too.
