To think like Sherlock Holmes you need to look at everything down to the finest detail, you also need to be a creative problem solver. Look at all logical solutions, and perhaps forget about them, look at all illogical solutions, once you’ve found the right choice for you go for it, pick it apart and work out how it is possible down to minute detail, if you can, do this in super quick time allowing your mind to connect thoughts together that might not otherwise have seemed possible.

Sometimes it’s not enough to say you are going to do something, sometimes you have to just do it and sometimes you need a plan, so look at the detail of your creative solution to your creative problem, think about how to achieve your objective though sometimes the greatest of plans don’t always run smoothly, and you may need to take some time to sit and ponder but if you think like Sherlock Holmes and take in the detail you should be able to adapt your thinking to the changing situation.

To put yourself in a different mindset it could help if you wear a hat, but don’t do drugs, they don’t work.
